Happy New Year and Happy Monday morning everyone!
I told you last week that starting today you could enter a giveaway for a great piece of Rachael Ray cookware, and it’s true!

I got to hand pick the piece for the giveaway (is this one or two words, I can’t decide!), and the moment I saw this precious stoneware casserole dish with it’s smooth lines and heavy lid, I was in love. I wish I got to keep it for myself! BUMMER! But, yay for you guys!
Want to enter? Here’s how:
- Go to www.cookware.com and find your favorite item that you just can’t live without.
- Come back to the blog (doesn’t matter which post, as long as it’s from this week) and leave me a comment with the link to your favorite item and tell me why you want it!
- All comments left between 1/4/10 (12pm PST) and 1/8/10 (5pm PST) will be entered into a randomized electronic drawing.
- 1 winner will be chosen this time around, and I’ll post their name next Monday. They have 24 hours to email me after that with their contact information before I pick a new randomized winner.
If you have any questions, simply leave a comment and I’ll respond ASAP.
Happy hunting, kittens!

This cookware set looks good: http://www.cookware.com/Rachael-Ray-76081-RRY1056.html
I only pick the Rachael Ray set because that’s who you are featuring in your give-a-way. Honestly, I would take a set of ANY stainless steel cookware. I currently have ONE stainless steel sauce pan, I <3 it. The rest are a set I got for my wedding that are non-stick something or other. If I would toss them I could. They are so fickle and scratch easily.
Great give-a-way Siiri! Thanks for the opportunity!!

Hey Andrea, thanks for entering! That cookware set does look pretty cool! I have heard nothing but great things about her line…a friend of mine works for the company that produces it, and he swears by her stuff.
Happy New Year!

So I can eat grilled all year long. And eat healthier

Thanks for the comment and entry, Katie! That indoor grill is cool! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before.
Check back next week to see if you’ve won! Happy New Year!

http://www.cookware.com/All-Clad-5509-AAC1276.html Oh I would love a nice big stock pot. The other day my bf and I tried to make mashed yams for a dinner party, and my dinky dutch oven pot could barely hold the yams and the water. I was so afraid it would boil over.
Also, I’ve never made soup and a big stock pot is absolutely essential!

Yo Yo Netts! Thanks for entering, I feel your pain with cooking in a too small pot, never fun! You should keep your eyes peeled for a sale on this site….if I can’t give the stock pot away, at least you could buy it for yourself on the cheap, no?

Sirri…I just thought you liked cooking so much and never connected that it was actually your blog. I signed up and am going to watch it more since I like to cook for the family…you probably didnt know that but I do most of the cooking.
Here is the cool things I found.

It is a kids baking set and Anton would love it. He always wants to cook with T. He pulls chairs over to the counter climbs up then calls “mamma cook?” He has a little apron that he has to have on when he cooks and also makes T or I put ours on. He cracks his own eggs now and so on. It is really cute and he loves it.
Keep up the good work and I am excited to try some of your creations…Hope you had a Happy New Year.

Hey Ben! Sorry my comment didn’t get published earlier. Here’s what I said:
“I love, love, LOVE cooking stuff for kids! I don’t know where I’d be now if my parents hadn’t let me help them in the kitchen and learn all about food by cooking with them and eventually, for myself. I’ll have to keep kids cooking with parents in mind as I move forward. Thanks for the insight! Miss you guys!”

I’ll take a Le Creuset 5-qt Oval French Oven in Caribbean or Cobalt, please. Actually, you can just buy me a whole set, OK? Thanks, Siir’, you’re the best.

Sure thing, Kell, done and done.

I would love this: http://www.cookware.com/Le-Creuset-L2502-2916S-LEC2009.html
It’s a “french oven” aka dutch oven by Le Creuset. I have several recipes that call for a dutch oven and I’m without.
Sadly this beauty is $225 so I won’t be purchasing it any time soon!
PS goes without saying that I enjoy reading your blog and I LOVE that you’re having your first giveaway!

I would take this stainless steel chef’s pan. I am not very advanced when it comes to cooking…I basically sautee everything…so this sort of pan would go a long way in my kitchen no doubt!!

There’s a pretty 3 qt saucepan with lid by calphalon that I’ve had my eye on.
Thanks!

Nice, that’s so universal! I’m sure you’d get tons of use for many years….I wonder what it would take to actually destroy one of those things!

We are always in need of a new teakettle, and I think this one is adorable: http://www.cookware.com/Paula-Deen-51470-EEN1093.html
Srsly.
And I love that RR casserole – good choice!

we just got a new electric tea kettle and it’s so great…anything surrounding tea and I’m in!
January 6, 2010 at 11:50 am |
Great idea, Siiri!
A new set of cutlery is a must have for me this year! I’m a huge fan of hard to cut vegetables and I’ve had some serious close calls with dull knives! Global cutlery it is: http://www.cookware.com/Global-Cutlery-G-2538-BRV1073.html.
Happy New Year!

a 14″ non-stick frying pan…b/c 14″ can fit 25 homemade dumplings perfectly, making that crunchy, crusty pan fry, awesome for entertaining and impressing friends…and if anyone tried to break in, it would make a pretty good weapon =)

YES! Seriously, I have the CuisenArt (sp? Cuisin?) mandolin and that is the main thing I use it for. It’s a sharp mother!
January 7, 2010 at 6:03 pm |
I think my fav is still the panini maker: (you know me and my grilling) http://www.cookware.com/Krups-FDE312-75-KRU1034.html
As you know, Siiri, I use this for EVERYTHING and it’s diet friendly since you don’t have to add oil and you don’t have much clean up when you’re done. I can throw everything in when my family is sporadically coming to the table and they each get a hot meal (and I can sneak veggies in it without anyone complaining). A little oil and balsamic vinegar makes everything taste good.
