It’s about to go down….as another weeks winds down, and I prepare to watch a killer weekend of College Football (yes, in my house, it’s a proper noun people), GO DUCKS!!!!!! Let us start off the weekend correctly by reflecting on some recent beers I’ve imbibed this Fall.
First up – PDX: local Portland brews at the Low Brow Lounge in the Pearl.
This was in mid-September on a short weekend road trip to a wonderful wedding down in Coos Bay. The Low Brow didn’t disappoint, except for the obnoxious crowd of drunken coworkers having a party and throwing us some oddly placed stank eye….it was the perfect way to kick off that trip.
Next – PDX: Bailey’s Tap Room, on the cusp of the Pearl.
This place is just freakishly awesome. They are running stats screens behind the main front bar, where you can see what’s on tap, what’s just been tapped, and what’s tapped out! (is that confusing enough for you? No? Have another beer and give it a few minutes!)
This fine specimen is called the Eugene Esteem, and it was lovely. Just like my Ducks!
And lastly (which is by no means the extent of or a true representation of the diversity of beers I’ve had this Fall, but the only ones I’ve remembered to take pictures of. It’s hard when you’re having fun, okay?) – SEA: Clever Bottle in Belltown
These fine pints of Hilliard’s, “The Official Beer of Awesome,” (located right here in Seattle) were a wonderful way to unwind after a long week, while people watching (my national pastime). The lighter of the two is their Blonde (duh, seriously you guys, do you think I order anything else if they’ve got a blonde on tap?!) and the darker of the two I believe is the Amber… and then there was also a Saison in there…..
So, tonight, I’m going to meet up with two wonderful, powerful, beautiful, strong, hilarious girlfriends of mine. We’re going to toast each other, laugh too loudly, people watch, have an incredible dinner, get into a little trouble, and generally paint the town RED. I’m starting with a beer, how about you?
