How do I feel: Seeing as I was able to sleep in a little this morning, I’m feeling just great for a Sunday.

Nothing special about day 14, other than I’m on the cusp of being 50% done with this experiment, which brings with it both a sense of relief and accomplishment. I’m glad I’ve made it successfully through two solid weeks of limiting my ingredients, dining out a couple times, and not passing out from either lack of sustenance or the paralysis some folks experience with the reduction in variety that leads to light headed moments or worse (like passing out or quitting).

Food wise, today was totally boring. Activities were not as boring, and included a fantastic run through the city, the SAM Olympic Sculpture Park, and part of Myrtle Edwards Park. It was a brisk and beautiful day, and I wanted to be out in it as much as humanly possible. After my run, I headed out to Alki and met up with a buddy who just returned from trekking abroad. We walked all of Alki, enjoying more of the sun, all of the people watching, and a pretty memorable sunset. All in all, a banner Seattle day.

Food Diary:

Breakfast:

  • Coffee, homemade almond milk, a banana, 30oz H2O and 2 soft boiled eggs

Lunch: (this was after my run, when I’m never very hungry, so I just ate enough to back fill from the run and planned for an early dinner)

  • Large Fuji apple, 1 hard boiled egg, 32oz H2O, black coffee while walking Alki

Dinner:

  • Remaining Brussels sprouts, shallots, turkey meatballs, zucchini spears and cauliflower dip

Lesson of the day: Sometimes you just want to eat food that will get the job done and it doesn’t need to be creative, different or have a “wow” factor. Today was one of those days, and I’m okay with being slightly boring sometimes.
